BioSyntech has a privileged relationship with Ecole Polytechnique of the University of Montreal, via an exclusive technology transfert agreement with the Canada Chair in Cartilage Tissue Engineering. This research group is headed by Dr. Michael Buschmann and involves 23 members working in 7 different laboratories, using a multidisciplinary approach for Regenerative Medicine. This research laboratory is one of the largest and most advanced in the world in the field of cartilage regeneration.

Dr. Buschmann has a PhD in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics, from both Harvard University and MIT. He has an impressive scientific publication record and has received many distinctions and awards, including the 2004 Innovator of the Year Award from the Association of Industrial Research of Quebec.
