Jeanne Bertonis, MBA, M.Sc.,
Chief Executive Officer
Ms. Bertonis has been a management consultant for the last three years,
providing strategic and business advice primarily to venture
capital groups and private biomedical companies, with a focus
on biomaterials, cardiovascular and orthopedics industries.
She held the positions of Chief Business Officer and Vice President,
Corporate Development for Angiotech Pharmaceuticals from 2000-2006,
where she oversaw all of its business and corporate development functions,
including mergers and acquisitions, strategic collaborations, and marketing.
Prior to joining Angiotech, she held senior business development positions at
Guidant and Genzyme, working across a broad spectrum of industries including
devices, drugs, combination therapies, gene therapy, cell therapy and
bioactive biomaterials. She has additional experience in business
and research positions from other large pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical
companies including Eli Lilly & Company and Biogen, Inc. Ms. Bertonis
holds a Master of Management Degree from J.K. Kellogg Graduate School
of Northwestern University, a Certificate of Special Studies from
Harvard in Administration and Management, a Master of Science Degree
in Zoology from the University of Massachusetts, and a Bachelor of
Arts Degree in Biology from Vassar College.
Catherine Auld, C.A.
Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Catherine Auld has over 8 years
of public and private biotech experience including responsibility for
public company reporting, initial public offerings, financing, licensing
and partnership activities. Ms. Auld is a financial consultant within
the biotechnology industry and previously she was the Chief Financial
Officer for NeuroMedix Inc., Transition Therapeutics Inc.
and PreMD Inc.; Interim Chief Financial Officer for ARIUS
Research Inc.; and Vice President of Finance for Cervelo Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
Prior to working in the biotechnology industry,
Ms. Auld was a senior manager with KPMG LLP.
Alberto
Restrepo, M.D.
Director, Medical
Affairs
Dr. Alberto Restrepo is an Orthopaedic Surgeon.
He graduated from the University Clinic,
Universidad de Navarra, Pamplona (Spain) in 1987.
Dr. Restrepo's professional career has been devoted
to the study of knee and arthroscopic surgery. His
expertise comes from private and public practice, as
well as from his dedication to academic medicine.
During the course of his career, he has held several
teaching assignment, given numerous lectures and
published a number of medical papers and studies. He
has held the position of Vice Dean at the
Universidad de la Sabana School of Medicine since
July 1999. Dr. Restrepo has also been an
International Affiliate Member of the American
Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) since 1997.
